Thank you for visiting our East Wickham Primary Academy website. We sincerely hope that it captures the essence of our wonderful school and it's community. Our aim at EWPA is simple - to provide all of our children the opportunity to GROW as part of a diverse and supportive community:

                                their characterPicture1

                                their wellbeing

                                their knowledge

                                their mindset

Through our culture, vision and values, we provide our children with rich experiences alongside a meaningful and structured curriculum. We believe first in the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics as the foundations for learning.

We are aspirational for our children and want every child to achieve their full potential during their time with us. Our children are at the heart of everything that we do. They are put first in every decision and action that we take. We want every one of our children to achieve and succeed and to become lifelong learners, irrespective of their starting points.

Our expectations for the behaviour within our school community are high. We achieve this through our commitment to forging positive relationships and creating a sense of belonging. We believe in visibly consistent adult routines, recognition & reward and relentless routines. We have 3 simple expectations for all - Be Ready; Be Safe; Be Respectful.

Our children are proud to be part of the school community. Throughout their journey at EWPA, they are nurtured and supported to develop into the best version of themselves.  We believe that our children should develop their character, creating a sense of understanding who they are and what they can achieve. Mental health and happiness play a key role across our school. We have structured systems in place to ensure that our children understand the key importance of mental health and develop a toolkit to know how to look after themselves. A positive mindset plays a key role in developing our communities resilience. Our children do not fear mistakes, they understand that they play a key role in them developing themselves as learners.

East Wickham is a wonderfully diverse community. We strongly believe in inclusion and equality, every child in our school should be able to access all aspects of school life. We work hard to provide learning environments that ensure that barriers to learning are reduced or removed. We want every child to be successful. We do not want to see any child disadvantaged, resulting in diminished learning opportunity and therefore work closely with disadvantaged children and families to remove any potential barriers and ensure that there is an equity of experience and opportunity.

The wider school experience plays an important part in the personal development of our children. We aim to provide experience and opportunities for children to go beyond the school day. We provide a wide range of clubs, covering a variety of interests. We strive to allow as many children as possible to represent the school with pride and therefore maximise sporting competition, musical performance and showcase learning in creative subjects as much as possible through art exhibitions and science presentations.

We are incredibly proud of our school community.
