Postive Relationships and Behaviour
At EWPA our approach to behaviour management is developmental, inclusive, based on strong relational practice and reflects the school’s vision of .
Positive behaviour and good manners are encouraged at all times. Staff and governors are committed to achieving the very highest behaviour standards within the school community. Our positive behaviour policy has been produced with the involvement of staff, governors, pupils and parents. It aims to move standards of behaviour from good to outstanding. The book by behaviour expert Paul Dix 'When the Adults Change, Everything Changes - Seismic Shifts in School Behaviour' has shaped our thinking and in turn our practice.
All members of staff are trained to support positive behaviour consistently, in line with our Positive Behaviour Policy, so that the school environment is a safe and happy place to learn and work.
Pupils are taught both explicitly and implicitly about positive behaviour and are given increasing responsibilities and leadership opportunities as they move through the school. Our school's GROW vision, along with The British Vales, are woven throughout the EWPA curriculum and our behaviour expectations extend to pupils' actions outside of school.
